Who is covered
The buyer named on the order or the accepted quote, for the building at its original installation address.

Wind and snow: ratings are specific to your location and design. Your site drawings list the loads your building is built to.
How pro-rating works
The 20-year limited warranties are pro-rated: we pay for the part of the term that is left. For example, a claim in year 12 receives an 8/20 credit (20 minus 12 = 8), or 40%, on the materials to replace. Labor and other charges are not included.
What is not covered
- Regular and A-Frame roofs longer than 36′: they have a horizontal seam in the panels and are not warranted against leaking. Choose a vertical roof for longer buildings.
- Scratches, surface marks and changes in appearance that do not rust through the steel.
- Damage from accidents, misuse, lack of the care described below, or changes and repairs made by others.
- Damage from wind, snow or other events beyond the loads shown on your building's drawings.
Care required
All warranties assume normal care and maintenance: wash the building once a year with soapy water or a pressure washer at the proper PSI, and never use abrasive chemicals on it.
How to make a claim
Within the warranty term, call us at (866) 456-1158 or email david@americansteelsystems.com with your name, the building address, your order or quote number and a few photos of the problem. We review it and schedule a visit if one is needed.
Limits and your rights
Implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, are limited to the duration of this written warranty. We are not liable for incidental or consequential damages. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, or the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so these limitations may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.
